Baseball Card Set Reviews

2009 Topps Series I

I like the Topps 2009 Series I set. One of the most strikingly appealing aspect of the set are the flashy colors and designs for each of the different MLB teams. Another thing I liked about these cards were the way the corners on the cards were displayed in blue and gray for the team names. To add to the aesthetic appeal of this set was the variance of background colors for many of the cards.

I opened up three Hobby sets that included 64 cards in each pack. Luckily, I did not receive any doubles in my first two sets. However, I my third pack only produced only 15 new cards, with the remaining all doubles. However, 143 out of 192 is not a bad ratio.

My only real criticism is more towards my expectations than the set itself. From what I had heard, Topps was going to include players from the 1960 season in this set, and was going to mimic one of their Legends sets. However, this is not the case. By the way, I had just appeared in one of the Heritage sets.

Topps did a good job with the regular 2009 Series I set.
